Erat Petrus dormiens inter militus cintus catenis et ante ostium custodes.
Ecce lumen refulsit in habitaculum astitit Angelus percussit Petrus et eccitavit.
“Surge, surge velociter, solve catenas, precimge tè, calcea tè, circunda tibi vestimentum, sequere mè.”
Pulsante eo ostium Ioannis venit puella & pregaudio intro currens non peruit, pulsabat Petrus, perseverabat pulsans; respondebant puellae “in sanis in carcere est Petrus” (pulsabat Petrus).
Narrabat puella stare Petrus ante ianuam (pulsabat Petrus) dicebant illi “Angelus eius est” (pulsabat Petrus, perseverabat pulsans); aparuerunt, viderunt, obstupuerunt.
Annuens autem Petrus manu ut tacerent.
Nunciavit quod Dominus abduxit eum.

Dormia Pedro entre os soldados, acorrentado e diante da porta do cárcere.
Eis que fulgiu uma luz no cômodo; um Anjo se aproximou, toco-o e o acordou.
“Levanta, levanta depressa; rompe as correntes, cinge-te, calça-te, veste-te e me segue.”
Pedro batia à porta de João. Veio uma jovem e, devido à alegria, correu para dentro sem abrir a porta. Pedro batia à porta, seguia batendo. Responderam à jovem: “Louca! Pedro está no cárcere.” (Pedro batia à porta.)
A jovem afirmava estar Pedro diante da porta. (Pedro batia à porta.) Disseram-lhe: “É o anjo dele.” (Pedro batia à porta, seguia batendo.) Abriram a porta, viram-no, espantaram-se.
Fez-lhes Pedro sinal com a mão para que se calassem.
Contou-lhes como o anjo o libertara.

Peter was asleep among the soldiers, chained before the prison door.
A light shone inside the room; an angel came closer, touched him, and awoke him.
“Rise, rise quickly; break the chains, girdle yourself, put on your sandals and clothes, and follow me.”
Peter knocked at John’s door. A young maiden came, and, overcome by joy, ran inside without opening the door. Peter knocked, he went on knocking. They answered her: “You are insane! Peter is in prison.” (Peter knocked.)
The girl claimed that Peter was at the door. They said to her: “It is his angel.” (Peter knocked, he went on knocking.) They opened the door, saw him, and were in awe.
Peter signaled with his hand so they would be silent.
He told them how an angel had freed him.
